Celebrated on Tuesday with great reverence and honor, during which the country generously honored her exceptional contributions to the struggle for Pakistan’s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Fatima Jinnah is enduringly recognized for her fervent advocacy of civil rights and her selfless efforts during the Pakistan Movement. On July 31, 1893, in Karachi, she was born.
She was instrumental in the creation of Pakistan, working alongside her brother Muhammad Ali Jinnah and uniting the women of the subcontinent on a common cause that facilitated the pursuit of a Muslim state.
Following her graduation from Kolkata University with a degree in dentistry, she joined Muhammad Ali Jinnah in actively participating in politics.
The Women’s Relief Committee, established by Jinnah in 1947 after the handover of power, eventually served as the foundation for the All Pakistan Women Association (APWA).
After Fatima Jinnah passed away on July 9, 1967, she was buried in Karachi’s Mazar-e-Quaid next to her brother.
