Every month, the fleet of vans travels to around 120 towns and villages to offer assistance to those who are unable to readily access a main street branch, including cash and check services, account inquiries, and other services.

According to the banking behemoth, the number of individuals visiting the branches has decreased by 90% since 2018, with as few as two people in some areas frequently utilizing the service.

The banking firm stated that it has already begun notifying employees of Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Bank as well as clients about the closures, which are scheduled to occur in May.

According to a spokeswoman, Lloyds will add 32 extra “community bankers” to certain community hubs where the mobile vans will no longer be operating. These bankers will offer in-person assistance with account inquiries and online banking support.

Last week, Lloyds made the announcement that it was eliminating 1,600 positions as it shifted its emphasis more and more to online services.

Nonetheless, the reorganization will result in the creation of 830 new positions, reducing the overall number of workers by 769.
