Qatar’s Education City Stadium For thousands of Saudi Arabian supporters, the AFC Asian Cup 2023 was a case of so close, so far, as their team lost to South Korea in the round of 16 due to mistakes made in the penalty shootout.

At the Education City Stadium on Tuesday night, South Korea’s tenacious performance secured a 4-2 victory on penalties after the game ended 1-1 after extra time. This earned them a quarterfinal matchup with Australia.

The Education City Stadium in Qatar Thousands of Saudi Arabian fans saw their team fall to South Korea in the round of 16 as a result of blunders committed during the penalty shootout, making the AFC Asian Cup 2023 a case of so close, so far.

Tuesday night at the Education City Stadium, South Korea’s resolute play earned them a 4-2 triumph in penalties following a 1-1 draw in extra time. They will play Australia in the quarterfinals as a result of this.

Since the Green Falcons’ supporters traveled across Qatar’s sole land border to attend the game, the atmosphere and support were always going to be biased in favor of the team.

Before the game began, they performed songs and danced outside the arena, and once it started, they took up most of the seats inside.

Even though the first half finished goalless, Saudi Arabia made it clear they intended to take the match to South Korea.

When play resumed, there was hardly time for supporters to return to their seats before Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Radif scored off the bench. Even though the horde of Green Falcons supporters was boisterous before to the goal, Radif brought the house down as he slipped past the goalkeeper from South Korea.

For the following thirty minutes, Saudi Arabia kept up the pace both on and off the field, but eventually ran out of gas. The replacements from South Korea exploited this and increased the pressure on the Saudi goal.
