According to court documents, Baldwin entered the plea while giving up his right to be arraigned following his grand jury indictment on January 19.
Baldwin did not show up for the hearing.
By giving up their right to an arraignment, the accused can have their attorney enter their plea on their behalf without needing to physically present in court.
Under the terms of the arraignment waiver with the First Judicial District Court in Santa Fe, the actor from 30 Rock was permitted to stay free without posting bail.
In January 2023, Baldwin was first charged in relation to the shooting.
A few months later, those charges were withdrawn due to evidence that suggested the revolver’s hammer had been altered to enable it to fire without the trigger being pressed.
