It will be fairly pleasant with a largely southwesterly flow, although the wind will feel chilly.

Although the Norwegian storm known as Storm Ingunn caused significant rain and wind disruptions in the northern regions today, the following few days appear to be calmer and drier.

Even though the strongest of the gales in the north will have passed, it will still be quite windy this evening till late.

While there will be scattered, gusty showers in northern and northwest Scotland, there will also be patches of rain in south Wales, the Midlands, and East Anglia.

The wind will subside during the night, and there will be intermittent showers in southern Britain.

The majority of Scotland will thereafter see further showers, although the west and north of the country will remain clear, dry, and quite cold.

Although Thursday morning is largely dry and sunny, Scotland may experience further showers in the north and northwest.

After a chilly start, it will be a little colder, but the light winds coming from the south will make it feel rather comfortable there in the sun.

The afternoon in Southern Britain will be bright and dry.

Elsewhere, overcast will build up and Scotland will see periods of rain, mostly in the north.

The majority of Friday will be gloomy, with heavy, protracted periods of rain or drizzle expected across the western hills and beaches, particularly in northwest Scotland.

There will also be some fog over the hills to the west.

The biggest chances of sunny breaks are in eastern Britain.

Although not very strong, there will be coastal gales in the north.

On Saturday, there will be sporadic rain in the central regions and wintry showers in the north.
