PESHAWAR: Many close family members are standing for national and provincial assembly seats in the province, therefore some families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be witnessing intense competition among themselves as voters get ready for the polls, according to a story published by The News on Thursday.

Pervez Khattak, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTI-P), and his sons are among those who have entered the race.

The former defence minister’s children will face up against their uncle Liaqat Khattak on two provincial assembly seats in Nowshera. Former provincial minister Liaqat Khattak is the younger brother of PTI-P chairman.

Khattak has fielded his sons Ibrahim and Ismail for PK-85 and PK-86. Khattak was elected as a Member of National Assembly (MNA) in the 2018 general election on a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket.
