Speaking candidly, Demi Moore discussed how the Brat Pack impacted each of the performers in the upcoming documentary.
The name “Brat Pack” refers to a group of performers who costarred in a number of 1980s coming-of-age films, such as St. Elmo’s Fire and The Breakfast Club.
The ensemble featured Andie MacDowell, Judd Nelson, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, and Mare Winningham in addition to Demi.
During her latest appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Demi talked about how the actors felt called “brats.”
“When you think back on those early years, kind of lumped together as a unit, what do you think of?” inquired Stephen.
“You know, at that time there weren’t really…it was very new to be doing stories about young people,” Demi retorted.None of us, I believe, particularly enjoyed the label of “brats.” Since it somewhat undermined our sense of professionalism.
Which is the subject of the documentary,” she said.
The book Brat: An ’80s Story by Brat Pack member Andrew McCarthy served as the basis for the documentary.
“This documentary is an exploration of what and how that affected each of us,” Demi continued. Rob, it was like a burden off his back. That’s why he’s good.
“However, it had a significant impact on Andrew and the decisions and actions he took,” the Feud: Capote vs. The Swans actress continued.
