ISLAMABAD: In light of the impending national elections, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training on Thursday declared that educational institutions will be closed from February 6 to 9. This announcement followed those made for Punjab and Sindh.
“It has been decided to declare public holidays from February 6 to 9 in view of the upcoming general elections 2024, which will be held in Pakistan on February 8, 2024,” the ministry said in a statement.
The federal capital’s educational institutions would “reopen February 10 (Saturday),” it added.
In reality, though, the public and private schools will be closed from February 3 to February 11. The schools would be closed on Saturday, February 3, as they observe two weekly holidays: Saturday and Sunday.In addition, in observance of “Kashmir Solidarity Day,” the federal government has designated Monday, February 5, as a national holiday. Because of the general elections, the educational facilities would be closed from February 6 to February 9.
