The Grammys were scheduled to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to hip-hop group N.W.A. Dr. Dre was absent, but everyone else was present, and Ice Cube provided a humorous explanation for why.
“Dr. Dre, my man, is not present. He wants me to know that he is not harboring hatred toward you. He is a multibillionaire. He has **** to do,” the rapper from Los Angeles remarked.
Aside from that, the Friday rapper discussed his opinions on the renowned award that honours his musical genre.
“We were aware that, given the kind of music we were making, winning a Grammy was not in the cards when we began performing in 1985, 1986, and 1987. To be honest, we didn’t think we would ever get on the radio.
It wasn’t, however, the 54-year-old’s first recent honor.
He received the inaugural Community Impact Award from the Basketball Hall of Fame earlier this year.
“This is really significant! I’ve always been passionate about sports, movies, and music. I didn’t aim for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; instead, I was merely passionate at the perfect moment.”
“I got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame just [by] having passion to do good work,” he went on. And this is again another incredible achievement in athletics.”
stating, “Because no way, shape, or form did I ever think I would be in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame—for any reason.”
