While accepting her 13th Grammy at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift made an unexpected announcement about her upcoming album.
The Anti-Hero hitmaker disclosed that her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, will be released on April 19th while winning the award for best pop vocal album for her album Midnights.
“I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way,” the pop artist, who is currently making waves for her romance with Travis Kelce and her Eras tour, said in an address to the crowd.
Swift continued, “But I’m aware that the Recording Academy’s voting process reflects the ardor of the fan base.
Swift continued. “So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19.”
“It’s called The Tortured Poets Department,” she went on. I’m going backstage right now to upload the cover. I’m grateful. I cherish you. I’m grateful.
The singer shared the album cover photo and what appeared to be lyrics from one of the songs on her Instagram account.
