ISLAMABAD The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a request with the Supreme Court to reconsider the ruling ordering its withdrawal, in an attempt to regain its electoral symbol, the “bat,” with just two days remaining before Pakistan’s tenth general elections.
In addition, the party filed a request for a review of the ruling of PTI’s intra-party polls with the supreme court on Tuesday.
The Pakistan Tea Party (PTI), whose founder Imran Khan is still in prison for several crimes, has asked the Supreme Court to reconsider its ruling from January 13, in which the court upheld the Election Commission of Pakistan’s finding that PTI’s internal party polls were “unconstitutional,” thus stripping the party of its emblematic vote.
