Host of “Real Time” Bill Maher criticized lefties in Hollywood for having previously vowed to leave the nation under President Trump yet being “still here.”
Maher attacked Americans who bemoaned living in the United States in his final monologue on Friday. He started by criticizing politicians, such as a progressive state representative candidate in New Hampshire who wrote on social media, “I need to get the f— out of this country,” and former President Trump, who claimed he “could’ve been relaxing in… the south of France” rather than seeking the presidency.
“Again, I’m confused by this political message: Vote for me because I hate it here,” Maher said. Do we have serious issues in America now? Indeed. I frequently refer to the “America sucks” list. Things like ranking 54th in There is still much work to be done. The world ranks 72nd in terms of female representation in government, behind Iraq, and 19th in terms of literacy and infant mortality, behind Cuba. And is it conceivable for a nation to lose itself to the point where it makes sense to leave? Yes, but we haven’t arrived yet. Not by a long shot. We also don’t require givers. It needs to be fixed by those who are willing to stay.”
Bill Maher hopes that the Supreme Court will overturn Colorado’s ballot ban, saying, “I just don’t think this is the way.”
