The Boston player led the Celtics to a fifth straight victory and improved their record to 42-12 on the season. He also recorded 14 rebounds and five assists.

Al Horford and Derrick White each scored sixteen points before Jaylen Brown added nineteen.

Boston currently leads the East by six games.

All 31 of Tatum’s points came in the first half, and the Celtics led by as many as 23 points in the third quarter before Brooklyn rallied for a late comeback to tie the game.

In the meantime, the Miami Heat, playing below full strength, hammered the Milwaukee Bucks 123-97 in Wisconsin.

Despite being without Josh Richardson, Terry Rozier, and Jimmy Butler, Miami won easily thanks to their excellent three-point shooting, which saw them make 19 of their 40 attempts from beyond the arc.

Duncan Robinson finished with 23 points and six three-pointers, while Nicola Jovic led all scorers with 24.

The Heat are now seventh in the East, half a game shy of the play-off spots, while the Bucks remain third.

Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Orlando Magic 127-113, led by the excellent play of Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Orlando had an 11-point lead in the first quarter, but the Thunder rallied behind 32 points from NBA Most Valuable Player candidate Gilgeous-Alexander and 33 points from Williams to secure a convincing win.

But the Minnesota Timberwolves continue to lead Oklahoma City by one game in the Western Conference after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 121-109 thanks to 41 points from Anthony Edwards.

The Phoenix Suns defeated the Sacramento Kings 130-125 after a thrilling back-and-forth game in which Kevin Durant scored 28 points.

Despite 17 lead changes, De’Aaron Fox scored 40 points and Domantas Sabonis scored 35 points to lead the Kings, but Phoenix prevailed.
