Stressing that final points have not yet been settled between the parties, Dar said that major breakthrough is expected in the negotiations during today’s meeting and a formal joint declaration of both parties would be issued once the talks culminate.

FAISALABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Raja Riaz has made a number of claims against former Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaqat Chatha, including obtaining hundreds of millions of rupees and a New York property from abroad Pakistanis.

Former opposition leader Riaz claimed at a press conference in Faisalabad on Monday that Pakistanis living overseas sold Chatha for Rs250 million and gave her a flat in New York.

“I’d want to tell you about his past. He worked in Faisalabad for 20 years and was the most corrupt magistrate. “He falsely accused the chief election commissioner and chief justice of corruption after receiving money near his retirement,” he claimed.

The PML-N leader further asked the relevant authorities to place the former commissioner’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL) and hold an inquiry into his allegations.

“Liaqat Chatha’s name should be added to the ECL and an investigation should be launched. “Usman Buzdar gave Chatha his last posting for Rs50 million,” he claimed. He stated that the PTI attempted to replicate May 9 the previous day but failed.
