The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has formed a three-member committee to negotiate the formation of the next federal government, The News reported on Saturday.

The committee is made up of Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and the party’s senior deputy conveners, Mustafa Kamal and Farooq Sattar.

According to a MQM-P spokesperson, the organization will negotiate with political leaders to share power.

A few days ago, the MQM leadership stated that it will include federal ministries in the coalition administration, which would benefit not only Sindh’s metropolitan districts, but the entire country.

On February 11, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and MQM-P struck an agreement on key principles for political collaboration in the “best interest of the nation and country.”

PML-N Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that an in-principle agreement was struck between PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and the MQM leadership during a meeting.

“They vowed to work together for the interest of the country and the nation,” said Marriyum in a press release.

On the invitation of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, the MQM-P team led by Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui paid a visit to Nawaz’s home in Jati Umra, Lahore.
