Up until the most recent reshuffle, Paul Scully was the minister for London. He stated that some people were “concerned about, more and more, their neighbourhoods changing” in an interview with news Radio London.
Mr. Scully continued, after pleading for “a sensible use of language so we have a constructive adult debate”: “If you were just looking at the color of skin, that’s one thing… My father is half-Burmese, so I’ve seen it first hand when a number of Indians were coming in the 1970s.
“The point I’m trying to make is that, for instance, there are no-go zones in some areas of Tower Hamlets.
There are sites in Birmingham and Sparkhill that are off-limits due to religious beliefs, primarily because certain individuals misuse their faith for personal gain—Islam does not support what some of these individuals do.
