On Wednesday night, the teams squared off in the FA Cup fifth round; Chelsea prevailed 3-2 in the dying minutes of the match.
“Leeds United can confirm an incident involving a Leeds United supporter occurred in the Shed End of Stamford Bridge during the first half of tonight’s FA Cup game,” the club said in a statement.
“The incident is being investigated and is in the hands of the emergency services.”
Chelsea released the same message.
Social internet footage purports to capture a Leeds supporter falling from the upper tier of the Shed End corner.
The individual captured on camera plummets onto vacant seats, with no other Leeds supporters in close proximity to pose a threat.
The supporter’s family has been informed, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson told news.
