Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said on Thursday that President Dr Arif Alvi should uphold the constitution. Speaking to media in Sehwan Sharif, Tessori said: “The president should leave the presidency in a good way.” Tessori emphasised unity, saying, “Everyone should join hands in terms of stabilising the country. There is a dire need to stage the politics with a positive mindset.” “There is an urgent need to work for the sake of the masses’ uplift, considering the current situation,” he added. – MQM-P stresses need for upholding democracy – Separately, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui today stressed the need for upholding democracy in the country. Expressing his thoughts, Siddiqui said: “The democracy cannot be strengthened unless the participation of the masses in the process is ensured.” He underscored the importance of the supremacy of the constitution, saying, “Everybody needs to follow the country’s constitution.”
“We would not let the leader derail the democracy for the election of the speaker and deputy speaker tomorrow,” he added.
