This year, Netflix is gaining popularity with a variety of topics to investigate, swoon over, and binge-watch for its Indian-centric audience.
Starting the slate with a feature film, Wild Wild Punjab, according to the synopsis, follows “a group of drunk boys” who “avenge a friend’s breakup by crashing his ex’s wedding and achieve closure.”
Other fascinating titles include Vijay 69, a “quirky, slice-of-life film about a man who decides to compete in a triathlon” in the 1970s, as well as a heist drama Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, and others.
“2023 was our most successful year, and it has been hugely rewarding to see our members and critics love stories across genres and emotions from India – and around the world,”
Aside from that, the 2024 slate included an adaption of the novel Club You To Death titled Murder Mubarak.
“In 2024, we’re taking this thrill to the next level,” the CEO explained. “The biggest names and freshest voices in Indian entertainment are bringing their most special films, series, and documentaries to Netflix, and we can’t wait for you to watch them.”
