ISLAMABAD: Shehbaz Sharif and Omar Ayub’s nomination papers for the elections for prime minister or leader of the house in the National Assembly, scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m., have been approved.
On Saturday, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) presented nomination papers for Shehbaz and Ayub, respectively.
The Mutahhida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have all backed the PML-N nominee, guaranteeing that he is easily elected as prime minister once more. Ayub, on the other hand, does not possess the numbers.
Shehbaz’s documents were filed on his behalf by PML-N leaders Ishaq Dar and Hanif Abbasi, as well as PPP politician Khursheed Shah. Seven MNAs proposed and seven others seconded the pm nomination paper
