KARACHI: Ahmed Karim Jilani, a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DSP), was arrested’red-handed’ while importing Gutka and other drugs, ARY News reported.
According to the facts, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Riffat Mukhtar took note, suspended the DSP, and ordered him to report to the Central Police Office.
DSP Ahmed Karim Jilani was apprehended and detained by customs agents at Jamshoro while smuggling gutka and other substances.
The IGP also launched an investigation into the suspended DSP and assigned DIG Mirpurkhas Tanveer Alam Odho as the inquiry officer.
The inquiry officer has been asked to conduct a transparent investigation and provide a report within 15 days.
According to sources, a charge sheet has been filed against the suspended DSP.
