Dolly Parton appeared to confirm the inclusion of her hit song Jolene’s Beyoncé rendition on the upcoming album Renaissance: Act II.
The I Will Always Love You singer has previously professed her adoration for the Single Ladies singer, stating that she would love for’someone like Beyoncé’ to re-record her popular song.
In an interview with Knox News, Parton seems to assume that her hit country song would appear on Beyoncé’s new album, which is slated to be released on March 29. When asked about the classic’s inclusion, she responded, “Well, I think she has!”
“I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that” , she went on to say.
Countless musicians, including Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X, Becky G, and Olivia Newton-John, have re-recorded the 1973 song, which quickly became a popular hit following its first release.
Despite multiple covers, Parton has expressed an interest in Beyoncé taking up the song. During a 2022 episode of The Daily Show, she stated, “I would just love to hear Jolene done in a big way, just someone that can take my little songs and make them like powerhouses.”
