Reshoring refers to the decision made by a business to bring its manufacturing operations back home from abroad, such as China.
The owners of Advanced Chemical Etching (Ace), located in Shropshire, are Mr. Ball and Mr. Whateley. The company produces precision metal components for clients in the telecom, automotive, aerospace, and electronics industries.
They claim that as more and more of Ace’s clients move their manufacturing jobs back to the UK, Ace’s order book is getting much better. “We recently had an £800,000 boost in orders, with probably in the region of about £250,000 to £350,000 of that from reshoring,” says news.
