Ryan Gosling discussed a stunning trick he had to pull off for The Fall Guy.
The 43-year-old actor spoke with PEOPLE about his experience attending the action-comedy film’s premiere in Austin, Texas.
“They dropped me 12 stories off of a building, and I have a fear of heights,” he said.
Ryan proudly showed a few more of his antics, as he was determined to perform them himself.
“I would have been happy to say I did none of my own stunts in this movie, but it was important to me that I do a few,” said the actor who played Barbie.
He went on to say, “It helped me to understand exactly on some small level what [stunt workers] do every day.”
Ryan previously told Variety that Steven Spielberg’s praise for the film made the project meaningful to him.
“I noticed him walking in my direction.” I don’t know Steven Spielberg. I believed there was no way he was going to come talk to me. I asked, ‘Me?’ and he said, “Yeah, you.” I say, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were coming to talk to me.’ And I stepped up, and he hugged me and said, ‘I just saw Fall Guy and I loved it,'” he explained.
