PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Thursday dismissed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed Sunni Ittehad Council’s (SIC) appeal challenging the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to deny the party reserved seats.
“Petitions are unanimously rejected,” the court stated.
Earlier today, the PHC resumed the hearing, which was presided over by Chief Justice Mohammad Ibrahim “It is not written anywhere that you cannot resubmit the list or when it has to be submitted,” the attorney contended, adding that there is no restriction on supplying a second list and that the ECP could have published a second schedule, as it did for the general elections.
“Those who participate in elections will get seats,” Justice Anwar said.
