Following a full day of proceedings in Florida, where the former president’s attorneys contended that the Espionage Act is too ambiguous to be applied to him, US District Judge Aileen Cannon rendered her decision.
At one point, she informed his lawyers, “It’s difficult to see how this gets you to dismissal of the indictment.”
Additionally, the judge made it clear that she would not grant Mr. Trump’s request to have the lawsuit dismissed on the basis that he believed the materials to be “personal” rather than official government property.
