Just before 10 p.m. on March 8, Riley Strain, a University of Missouri student, was last seen with his fraternity house in a Nashville bar.
Minutes before Mr. Strain was last seen, on Monday, authorities released video that showed the 22-year-old conversing briefly with an officer responding to a stolen car incident on Gay Street.
In response to the officer’s question about his well-being, Mr. Strain can be seen on camera saying, “I’m good, how are you?”
Police said that the teenager “did not appear distressed” and that, following the conversation at approximately 9:52 p.m., the student walked briskly past the officer.
After the little chat, no more video of Mr. Strain strolling down Gay Street was found.
