According to a Foreign Office statement, Pakistan’s air operations were painstakingly organized to eliminate the terrorist forces responsible for many attacks on Pakistani territory, which resulted in the deaths of civilians and law enforcement officials.
The recent attack on a security post in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, which killed seven Pakistani soldiers on March 16, 2024, sparked the operation.
Pakistan has continuously urged Afghan authorities to take serious action against terrorist groups, particularly the TTP.
The use of Afghan soil as a staging ground for terrorist activities against Pakistan has long been a source of concern for Pakistani officials, who underline the significance of bilateral cooperation in counterterrorism efforts.
Pakistan, while underlining its respect for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, has urged the interim Afghan government to deny safe havens to the TTP and give over leadership to Pakistan. The nation highlights the importance of dialogue and cooperation in dealing with the common threat posed by terrorist organizations.
Highlighting Pakistan’s historic support for the Afghan people, the Foreign Office chastised sections inside the Afghan power structure for sponsoring the TTP and using them as proxies against Pakistan.
