Palestinians in Rafah, Gaza, sifted through wreckage for their belongings in a critically damaged home following an Israeli bombardment that killed seven people, according to health officials.
Umm Muhammad Al-Kurdi reported that numerous members of her family had been killed. “They were having Iftar (breaking the Ramadan fast). My family had not finished their Iftar. Then he (her son) called me and said, ‘My grandfather’s house has been hit by a strike,'” Al-Kurdi explained.
Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost town on the Egyptian border, has become the last refuge for half of Gaza’s displaced people.Al-Kurdi stated, “There is no safe haven for Jews [Israelis]. There is no secure space at all. They instructed them to relocate to the south; here is the south. Where is safety? Where is safety? There is no safety. They bombed them when they were sitting (there), and they had not finished their Iftar. My brother was conducting ablution and preparing to pray. They bombarded him. He is gone. Alaa has been martyred. “Alaa has dead.
