After withdrawing their retirement from international cricket, Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim will attend a physical training camp in Kakul, where they will be joined by Usman Khan and the other 26 members of the Pakistani squad ahead of the T20 World Cup, which begins in June this year.
The PCB said that 29 players will participate in a fitness camp in Abbottabad, which has been formed in partnership with the Pakistan Army, from March 26 (Tuesday) to April 8.
The camp, where the players are scheduled to report today, “is strategically designed to prepare the players for the upcoming series and tournaments, including the home T20I series against New Zealand, the away T20I series against Ireland, and England.”
“The camp will focus on team building and aims to enhance the physical and mental strength of the players, ensuring they are in the best condition to face the challenges ahead,” the organization said in a news release.
During their stay at camp, professional trainers and coaches will oversee the players’ training regimen, which will be geared to improve their fitness, agility, leadership, strategic thinking, and overall performance on the field.
The announcement comes one day after the board unveiled a reorganized national selection committee with seven members.
Former cricketers Mohammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, and Asad Shafiq make up the selection committee, which also includes the head coach, captain, and an analyst.
