Of its 450 locations nationwide, 43 have been deemed to be “underperforming” or “low-performing” and are reportedly no longer financially sustainable.
Papa John’s stated that the locations will close by the middle of May after notifying the affected employees.
The corporation refused to provide the number of employees it employs around the UK, the number of jobs that will be lost, or the number of people that work at the locations.
Papa Johns UK managing director Chris Phylactou stated, “Our priority is our team members, who will be fully supported throughout this process.”
“Our goal is to work with impacted team members and attempt to find redeployment opportunities where available.”
“The right locations with the right partners” will be able to get investments from Papa John’s, according to Mr. Phylactou.
