The UK’s Official Charts Company reports that Noah Kahan, Teddy Swims, and Benson Boone are responsible for three of the year’s top four singles.
Stick Season, a pain-tinged folk ballad by Kahan that was initially released back in 2022, peaked at number one on the charts for seven weeks before becoming the most-listened-to song of the first three months of this year.
After ranking in the top 10 for the previous 13 weeks, Swims’ song with an addiction theme, Lose Control, arrives in second.
The list then included Boone’s heartbreaking single Beautiful, which went viral, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s comeback hit Murder on the Dancefloor, which peaked in 2001.
Particularly for Kahan’s music, there has been a growing appetite. The deluxe reissue of Stick Season, his third studio album, which he co-wrote with Brit Award winner Sam Fender, has contributed to the 27-year-old’s rise to international stardom.
