KARACHI: In the midst of police inaction about the city’s ongoing spate of kidnappings and robberies, robbers in Karachi even targeted mosque patrons in the Karimabad neighborhood.
A lone armed robber broke into the Faizan-e-Attar Masjid on Friday night and stole three worshippers’ cell phones and Rs. 10,000 in cash, according to a muezzin there.
Police officers claim that the mosque’s management failed to file a first information report (FIR) regarding the event.
They added that CCTV footage of the incident is being gathered by Azizabad police from several locations.
It is important to note that during Ramadan, at least 19 residents of Karachi were shot and killed by thieves.
A research claims that in only one year, there were around 6,780 street criminal incidences in Karachi.
