This year, channel migrant crossings have reached a record level, and Rishi Sunak is preparing for a new legal battle over the Rwanda law.

According to Home Office data, 534 persons were seen crossing the English Channel on Sunday, making it the most in a single day this year.

The purpose of the bill is to bring the program back after the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional in November.
