Shortly after 9 p.m. local time on Saturday, the Los Angeles County Fire Department received a call to the amusement park.
Fifteen individuals were reportedly admitted to hospitals with minor wounds.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the final car of one of the trams “tilted and ejected multiple passengers” as a result of the collision with a metal guardrail.
The Highway Patrol indicated that some injuries were “moderate,” but they did not say how many.
The trams are utilized to provide park goers with behind-the-scenes tours of the sets used to film some of Universal’s most popular motion pictures and television series.
Lieutenant Maria Abal of the Sheriff’s Office speculated that the four-car tram might have feel it.
