A man who has achieved his newest challenge—running the London Marathon—also traversed the whole length of Africa.
After 352 days and several obstacles, including health scares, geopolitical issues, armed robbery, and trouble with visas, Russell Cook, also known as the “Hardest Geezer,” finally crossed the finish line of his Africa adventure in Tunisia on April 7.
The Worthing, West Sussex, resident, 27, has raised over £960,000 ($1.18 million) for charitable causes.
After completing the enormous task two weeks prior, Mr. Cook assisted with timing younger runners at the London Marathon.
His unofficial timing for finishing the marathon was 4:25:40.
Mr. Cook stated on social media, “I truly adore the marathon.” When I was a little boy and my dad ran one for the first time, I thought he was superman.
