When Ireland plays Zimbabwe in a men’s Test match for the first time, the Belfast stadium will become the 123rd cricket site to host a match in this format.
The planned August men’s Twenty20 and one-day international series against Australia has been rescheduled, though.
According to Warren Deutrom, CEO of Cricket Ireland, the absence of permanent facilities and the expense of temporary infrastructure to host the series were the main factors in this “difficult decision.”
The senior women of Ireland will host ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka and England in August and September, according to the announcement of the 2025 schedule.
Ireland’s goal is to qualify for the T20 World Cup as well, and their first matchup is against the UAE.
