Since Klopp declared in January that he would be leaving Anfield at the end of the season, the Reds have been putting a lot of effort into researching potential replacements.
The 45-year-old has shown himself as a candidate who meets Liverpool’s requirements. He guided Feyenoord to the 2022–23 Eredivisie championship.
This season, Feyenoord won the Dutch Cup and now sits second in the Eredivisie.
Although Slot’s appointment has not yet been decided, he is now a serious contender to replace Klopp.
Following the dismissal of manager Jesse Marsch, he was connected to Leeds United. Prior to Ange Postecoglou taking over, Slot also disqualified himself from consideration for the Tottenham Hotspur position in the previous summer.
