A Jewish-American professor stated that she does not “feel threatened as a Jewish faculty member in any way by what’s happening on this campus— except by the arrest of many of our students” in support of Columbia University students who are protesting against Israel.
“In no way do I think this endeavor is anti-Semitic. I think that kids have a very critical view of Israeli politics,” Susan Bernofsky told Al Jazeera.
“And I do not feel threatened as a Jewish faculty member in any way by what’s happening on this campus — except by the arrest of many of our students.”
Columbia University students are demanding for the cessation of Israel’s attack on Gaza and a divestment from businesses who supply Israel with goods related to the conflict.
