Today, as the world celebrates International Labor Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have pledged to protect workers’ dignity and honor their historic struggle.
Today is International Labor Day, and there’s a renewed focus on protecting workers’ rights. ‘Ensure workplace safety and health during climate change’ is this year’s topic for the day.
To commemorate the final sacrifices made by laborers, a number of public and private organizations are holding conferences, seminars, marches, and walks.
President Zardari thanked and expressed gratitude for the “commendable” contributions laborers in Pakistan have made to the nation’s progress in his special address to them.
The president stated in a message on Tuesday that “this day serves as a reminder for all of us to safeguard laborers’ rights, and work for their social protection, fair wages, and safe working conditions.”
The president praised the laborers’ unwavering efforts, which have propelled the nation’s socioeconomic advancement.
“The labourers and the working class in Pakistan are facing unprecedented challenges, such as inflation, rising cost of living, unemployment, and the adverse impacts of climate change,” said President Zardari in a news release.
