The White House has assured the public that President Donald Trump remains in excellent health after undergoing a recent MRI scan. Officials clarified that the test was purely preventative, easing growing speculation surrounding the president’s age and medical condition.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Monday that the imaging results showed no cardiovascular issues and that such screenings are beneficial for men in Trump’s age group.
“President Trump’s cardiovascular MRI was completely normal — no arterial narrowing, no restricted blood flow, and no abnormalities in the heart or major vessels,” Leavitt said of the 79-year-old president. She added that his heart size, vessel walls, and overall cardiovascular structure appeared healthy, with no signs of inflammation or clotting. His abdominal scan was also described as normal.
The MRI was conducted during a recent medical evaluation, but because the White House did not immediately explain its purpose, questions arose about whether the administration was being fully transparent regarding the president’s health.
Trump has remained sensitive about public discussions of his age and fitness, recently criticizing a New York Times reporter who co-authored a story examining how his age may influence his energy and performance.
