According to Android Police, Android 15 may be introducing some tablet-inspired optimizations to specific UI elements on phones that are used in landscape position.
According to the article, certified Android expert Mishaal Rahman disclosed, while writing for Android Authority, that Android 15 may rearrange phones’ “Quick Settings” panel and lock screen to better utilize the large canvas that is available when the device is in landscape mode.
According to the expert, this would reduce the amount of wasted space and enable more information to be displayed in the same space.
As of right now, phones running Android 14 in landscape mode display the Quick Settings panel extended and occupying more horizontal space, which makes the menu look unnatural and challenging to navigate.
