The March-released five-part documentary series claimed years of mistreatment and inappropriate behavior at shows like Drake & Josh and iCarly.
Schneider claimed that it was wrongly inferred in Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV that he “sexually abused the children who worked on his television shows”.
The Los Angeles Superior Court received the lawsuit on Wednesday.
“Many protective measures”
According to the Press Association, the producers Warner Brothers Discovery, Sony Pictures Television, and Maxine Productions are named as defendants in the filings.
In a comment on the series, Nickelodeon—which is not associated with the case—told the Associated Press that while it cannot “corroborate or negate” claims made decades ago, it does look into any formal complaints and maintains strict policies for working with kids.
“We have taken many precautions over the years to help ensure we are living up to our own high standards and the expectations of our audience. Our top priorities are the wellbeing and best interests of all children, not just of our employees, casts, and crew.”
