At a ceremony held at the Governor House on Monday, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail took the oath of office as the new governor of Balochistan.
The newly appointed governor of the province was administered the oath by Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar, Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court.
Provincial Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and outgoing Governor Malik Abdul Wali Kakar of Balochistan attended the oath-taking event.
Additionally, at Mandokhail’s swearing-in ceremony, provincial ministers, assembly members, politicians, and other officials took part.
The politician from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been appointed as the 24th governor of the province in the southwest.
Following his election to the highly sought-after position, the governor made the decision to act as a liaison between the province and the federation.
“The province’s issues and challenges will be deliberated with the federal government.” Speaking with reporters after the oath-taking ceremony, he stated that the province’s governance might be improved.
In response to a question regarding potential Gwadar fencing, Governor Mandokhail stated he was not aware of any such developments.
“No idea regarding Gwadar’s fencing situation. It’s a good thing if it’s being deployed for security reasons, he added.
Mandokhail, the head of the PML-N’s provincial branch, had stated in an interview with News last week that he would serve the nation as a governor.
“I will play the role of a bridge between the province and the Centre,” he had stated.
