The 22-year-old is not expected to return to his parent club by either Getafe or United.
Torres stated on Tuesday to the Spanish radio station Radio Marca, “I think he would continue for another year if it was up to the lad, his parents, and the club.”
For Getafe, who are tenth in La Liga, Greenwood has made 32 appearances in all competitions and scored 10 goals.
He joined Getafe on September deadline day, following an internal United investigation into his behavior, which was prompted by the dismissal of a lawsuit against him.
Greenwood should play somewhere else, according to United at the time, and the team made a strong suggestion that he will not play.
