At the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns and The Bloodline had unresolved business with Kevin Owens before the focus shifted to WrestleMania. Following a one-on-one match, Reigns maintained his title against Owens. Reigns gave Zayn the opportunity to beat Owens down after the match, but he declined and instead gave Reigns a chair shot, officially ending Zayn’s time with the faction.
Zayn challengeD Reigns at the Elimination Chamber premium live event for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship in his hometown of Montreal. In front of a fervent audience, Zayn nearly upset Reigns, but was unsuccessful. But when Jey Uso declined to take Zayn to the canvas, The Bloodline would further splinter.
