The News said on Saturday that three major generals in the Pakistan Army, including Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the director general of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), had been elevated to the rank of lieutenant general.
Two more officers, Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain, were elevated to the rank of lieutenant general.
According to the publication, the recently promoted officers have been assigned to their new positions by Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) Asim Munir.
The promotions weren’t formally announced, though.
While Lt Gen Omer Bukhari will now serve as Commander 11 Corps (Peshawar) and Lt Gen Hussain as Chief of Logistics Services (GHQ), Lt Gen Chaudhry will continue to carry out his existing responsibilities as DG ISPR.
