Months after his passing from stomach cancer in February, Toby Keith’s legacy continues to have an impact on his loved ones, friends, and supporters.
On Saturday, Krystal Keith, the father of Keith, got an honorary degree on his behalf at the University of Oklahoma’s commencement ceremony.
“He was so excited and proud when he learned last fall that he was being inducted into Sooner Nation on this high of a level,” Krystal remarked in her remarks upon accepting the degree.
She went on, joking that he didn’t have to work that hard to acquire his bachelor’s degree when I made a joke about how many hours I spent here earning it. However, we all know he earned it and devoted countless more hours to his music.
