Residents in several parts of Karachi saw constant power outages for half a day on Monday, adding to the already unbearably hot heat plaguing the port metropolis.

After the summer arrived, Karachiites from various parts of the capital of Sindh complained about loadshedding lasting “more than 12 hours.”

According to them, the “K-Electric” extended load shedding’s duration right away during the most recent heatwave cycle, which made things harder for students preparing for their yearly exams.

The locations most impacted by power outages are: Keamari, Liaquatabad, FC Area, Karimabad, Lyari, Old City area, Mehmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, Azam Basti, Surjani Town, Orangi Town, Baldia Town, Quaidabad, Malir, Gadap, Gulshan-e-Maymar, and Landhi.

Residents also said that there was no break in the power outages, which persisted from 12 midnight to 6 am, even in the late hours of the night.

However, 71% of Karachi’s areas, according to K-Electric, the city’s only power supplier, had continuous power supply, with the exception of those with severe line losses brought on by unauthorized connections and non-payment of bills.

The maximum actual temperature is expected to be between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, but the feel-like temperature in the city is expected to vary between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) earlier today.
