According to New South Wales (NSW) state police, investigations revealed that a senior player at Macarthur FC was reportedly following instructions from an individual thought to be in South America to orchestrate players receiving yellow cards during matches for money.
Yellow cards were allegedly changed during games on November 24, 2023, and December 9, 2023.
According to the force, failed attempts to influence yellow cards occurred during games on April 20 and May 4, 2024.
The players, who have not been identified, are expected to face charges for participating in conduct that corrupts the outcome of a betting event.
